1: Leaders have a positive vision of the future.
Diplomats
must become the causes of world hope and friendship.
Currently most of them simply react to one crisis after
another, or represent conflicting national interests.
Diplomats as world leaders must give the vision and
the direction for the policies of nations for the good
of all humanity.
Diplomats
are not leaders unless they have a beneficial goal
to which to lead. Their vision must promote the well-being
and unity of all life on our planet. It must promote
progress, leading to the fulfillment of human potential,
freedom from fear and economic security. It must promote
the health of the natural environment and the respectful
and constructive use of resources. Their vision must
be based upon the most up-to-date knowledge about the
interrelationship of all life on our planet, not based
upon superstition, prejudice, greed, and blind arrogance.
